The two days workshop aimed to define the total amount of GNSS related information for IFR and VFR pilots training. A very specific aviation environment was chosen – premises of the Czech Aviation Training Centre (CATC) at Václav Havel Airport Prague. The workshop hosted more than twenty experts, of the four identified types of stakeholders, which are most concerned by the training of pilots. These include Approved Training Organizations, Civil Aviation Authorities and professional associations, Aircraft operators and pilots (instructors and pilot-students).
The objective of the workshop was to deeper understand the needs of the current state of technology and knowledge and create the first step for development of innovative system, content and method for pilots training as one part of the CaBilAvi project. The workshop was conducted according to the methodology "Design Thinking" and the design principles of centred to human (Human-Centred Design). There were used a structured creative exercises and effective moderation to support the group dynamics leading to better teamwork for achieving the objective of the workshop.
Every thought which sounded at the workshop was recorded in the customer journeys and helped subsequently to create complete list of pains and gains of GNSS usage in flight. This list counts 83 entries and it will be the foundation stone on which all other CaBilAvi planed work will be build.
