Capacity Bulding and Usage Increasing of EGNOS in Europe = CaBilAvi
GCE is coordinator of European project named CaBilAvi, which is solved under the granting scheme Horizon2020. CaBilAvi is acronym of original project name Capacity building for aviation stakeholders, inside and outside the EU — CaBilAvi. This capacity building in EGNOS and Galileo (together called EGNSS, as it is European GNSS) has two high-level objectives:
- support emerging EGNOS countries inside and outside the EU in a customized strengthening of their capacity shortfalls for preparation of EGNOS adoption
- to prepare arguments and develop new curricula for IFR and VFR pilot training to include flying RNP operations, thus increase the awareness of EGNSS in the aviation user community within the EU
The high level objectives are broken down in 4 concrete, simple, measurable and achievable specific objectives, which are: to update pilots training curricula for IFR pilots licences with emphasis on GNSS, to increase the existing capacity available on the CAA and ANSP side to implement PBN and EGNOS in Balkan countries, to update pilots training curricula for VFR pilots licences with emphasis on GNSS, and increase the awareness of EGNSS in the European aviation community at large. The project started in January 2015 and will be 33 months long.
Consortium present an exquisite team of complementary skills, mixing well established and proven experienced staff (GNSS Center of Excellence, Pildo Labs, Aeroclub de Sabadell, Amezen, CATC) with partners who have the right connections in the EGNOS emerging countries (Czech Technical University in Prague, University of Zilina, VUD, F-Air, DSA, Kosmonauta and Special Concepts).
