European Union Agency for the Space Programme (EUSPA) has officially published the new Galileo High Accuracy Service Signal in Space Interface Control Document (HAS SIS ICD), taking the Galileo HAS one step closer towards the launch of its initial services.
The publication provides the first Galileo C/NAV page layout, a description of the HAS messages, HAS messages encoding/decoding and the application of Galileo HAS corrections. The Galileo HAS SIS ICD is available free to download here.
The HAS SIS ICD was preceded by another publication – the HAS Info Note published in March 2021. Furthermore, in order to obtain feedback and requirements for the service, stakeholders were invited to participate in the testing campaign. HAS SIS ICD represents the most recent milestone, which will enable to launch the initial phase of the HAS at the end of 2022. In the final phase at full operational capability of the service, the HAS will be available globally, free of charge, and it will provide its users high-precision positioning information – horizontal accuracy (95 %) <20 cm and vertical <40 cm. The launch of HAS final phase is not planned until after 2024.
