The GNSS Centre of Excellence actively participated in the renowned European Navigation Conference (ENC), which this year was hosted by the European Space Agency (ESA) at the ESTEC. Space Research Centre in the Netherlands. There, our colleague Jakub Steiner presented the results after testing the resilience of navigation systems in river transport to GNSS interference, which we implemented together with the s Directorate of Waterways of the Czech Republic a Spirent within the GNSS vulnerability & mitigation in Czech Republic project.
The three-day conference welcomed a wide GNSS community, which participated in several blocks of expert lectures in four halls, one of which belonged to GCE. The main theme of this year's conference was the resilience of satellite navigation systems, one of the main specialisations of our association. We were thus able to present to a wide interested audience our most interesting results and findings from the activities we have carried out in this area. In particular, these were the conclusions of experiments during which we tested the resistance of the river navigation system Automatic Identification System (AIS) to jamming and spoofing in laboratory conditions and in a real environment. A technical paper on the same topic is also linked to the conference presentation and will be published in the conference proceedings in the coming months.
Attending the conference also gave us an insight into current developments in the GNSS world, expanded our know-how, met existing partners from the international environment, networked with other experts and gained new ideas for activities that we can now implement with and for our members.
